In collaboration with Jiyoon Baek
19-{6x4-(1+4)}=0 or The kitchen, is a digital environment built on Unity 3D that explores the mundane and repetitive nature of existing in one space during the pandemic. Built to resemble a dream-like reality and mimic that of an escape game, viewers are encouraged to explore and solve the equation to escape from the repetition.
Working with our own forms of escapism, we wanted to present an alternate reality where the kitchen, often referred to as 'heart of the home', reflected the isolated feeling we shared during our lockdowns. The equation itself is formulated using the numbers of our flats in London and Seoul and inspired by the alternate reality elevator game, the ground floor leads to a dreamy escape.
