Simulation Theory
Drawing inspiration from visual synthesizers, nostalgic digital visuals and simulation theory, this work embodies the idea of altered reality representation through the digital.
Built using old monitors, DVD players and cameras, I wanted to visually present my interest in conspiratorial thinking when it comes to fun theories such as simulation theory. Audience participation and interaction was at the core of my idea for this work to create a dialogue between the piece and the viewers. I presented this by reflecting and slightly distorting reality through closed-circuit live recordings (CCTV) displayed amongst a collage of pre-recorded visual distortions.
